Great Room Ceiling

We decided to leave the great room ceiling to the professionals! Monday the crew from Melfort (Pat, Jason & Jessie) began. By the time they finished Monday night it was up to the chandelier electrical box. How exciting was that? Not more great views of ugly ol spray foam. Mom helped me last week. We went on a marathon oiling spree. Watco Danish oil "Medium Walnut" was the product we used to finish the poplar tongue and groove. By the end of today I would expect to see that they have reached the peak... 40 feet give or take. Then downhill to the other side. We bought an extra 5 layers of scaffolding for this project I believe we have about 10 now plus 2 from the drywaller and 3 narrow ones. Might have to get into the rental business after the house is complete lol! By the quality of the work we are seeing I think we picked a great finishing carpenter. He will be back to do the the doors, trim and install the cabinets. The cabinets are a whole other blog!!! Wowzer it is a lot of work to proof the designs. They should be ready to confirm and order in two weeks. They are truly spectacular if I do say so myself. Cabico Cabinets.

Stay tuned for a really great ceiling picture later today. Do ya think you can stand the excitement?

Respect... Relax... Enjoy... Dorri
