Lakehouse Drywall Update

While Perry and I are languishing on the tropical beaches of Florida the drywall is miraculously being installed. Thanks to mom and dad for keeping an eye on the project for us and calling with questions as they arise. Very much appreciated. Looks like the majority is hung and the mudding process may begin in a week. I am very happy to be gone during the sanding portion. By the end of March we are hoping to be up to our eyeballs in staining, varathaning and painting.

Kitchen is kinda messy. Ceiling drywall has to be removed as the ceiling is supposed to be t & g

Well there you have it.... it is pretty exciting to see the house coming together this month. Closing in the open walls will really change the whole feel of the place and give us a great idea of the light. With all the windows the house is very bright even on a cloudy day. Paint colors have to be decided soon. I am thinking of using a pallet of taupes (on the gray end of the scale that was Ashley's pick), some warm greens (toward the yellow end of the spectrum) on the main floor, taupes and brown in the loft & master bedroom. MB bathroom off whites, taupe and aqua and the guest bedroom will have 2 icy aqua walls to go with the beach theme I have planned for that room. Think seashell, east coast nautical. The new laundry appliances are candy apple red so that room will be cheery as there is no window. The bonus room will have browns, driftwood tongue & groove and a beachy aqua color accent. I am getting myself so excited just writing this lol. But first we have a few more weeks left in sunny Florida to enjoy because when we arrive home there will still be mountains of snow and a FEW more cold days to survive.

We bought an alligator welcome sign to remind us of our home away from home to set by the front door. Very ferocious haha about the size of the 2 year old one we held.

Relax... Respect... Enjoy... Dorri
