Favourite Drink Tuesday

Christmas Eggnog - 12 servings (Make the day before serving)



4 c milk
5 cloves
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
12 egg yolks
1 1/2 c sugar
2 1/2 c light rum (or whatever you prefer)
4 c light creme
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp nutmeg

1. Combine milk, cloves, 1/2 tsp vanilla & cinnamon and heat over low for 5 min. Slowly bring milk mixture to a boil.
2. Combine eggs & sugar. Whisk until fluffy. Whisk hot milk mixture into the egg. Pour into saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stir constantly for 3 min or until thick. Do not allow to boil. Remove cloves and let cook 1 hour.
3. Stir in rum, creme, vanilla & nutmeg.
4. Refrigerate overnight before serving. Garnish with sugar & a candy cane.
